Most of what leaves the workshop is solid hardwood. For built-ins, a trade joinery cuts the carcass to my drawings and I make the fronts and panels here, so the timber is where you see it and touch it.
Practical where nobody sees, beautiful where everybody does.

Smaller pieces you pick up, hang or reach for every day, made with the same care as the big ones.
Built-ins for alcoves, nooks and awkward walls, measured and fitted on site so they look like they were always there.
I start by listening: what you need, how you will use it and where it has to live. Then I measure the space to the millimetre, because older homes are rarely square.
I come back with a few considered options for proportion, timber and finish, and we refine them together. You get a drawing and one clear quote.

I deliver and fit it myself, level, plumb and scribed to the wall. Doors adjusted, space swept, and one last check before I go.

Lead time and pricing
Most pieces take four to six weeks from deposit to delivery or install.
Every job is quoted after a conversation and, where needed, a visit. No two pieces are the same, so I don't publish prices.
One maker, one job at a time.
Delord Studios is run by me, Sascha, a German-born furniture maker. After twenty-odd years in retail and operations, the workshop is where I would rather be. I work in the inner north of Melbourne and see each piece through myself, from the first measure to the final wipe-down. Careful, practical and a bit pedantic, which is probably just German precision. Mostly, anyway.
